A Special Visitor

P1 and P2 were very lucky to have Andy from the SSPCA visit us in our classroom.  He showed us lots of pictures of both injured and healthy animals and gave us some good advice on how to look after our pets.  Andy also advised us to go and visit one of the SSPCA centres if ever we wanted to get a pet of our own.  He told us that there are so many animals at their centres looking for their forever homes!  If we see an injured animal in the street or anywhere else, Andy advised us to inform an adult and for the adult to then phone the SSPCA as soon as possible.

We decided that we are very good at looking after our own pets.  We know how important it is to make sure our pets are fed, loved and cared for :)

Maths Problem Solving

The children listened to a story about Spaceman Sid.  In his spaceship, he landed on a planet named Crit.  Aliens inhabited the planet Crit, some with 1 eye and others with 2 eyes.  Sid met some of the aliens and counted 9 eyes in total.  In pairs, the children were challenged to come up with different combinations of aliens with a total of 9 eyes.  How do you think they did?

Colour Mixing

The children had fun experimenting with coloured paints this afternoon.  Their challenge was to mix two primary colours to make a secondary colour.

We managed to make orange, green and purple!

We always wear our painting aprons so that our lovely uniforms do not get covered in paint.
