Outdoor exercise

Our whole school has recently been involved in piloting the 'daily mile'.  P2 have been enjoying this new initiative and the children even like to sing Christmas songs whilst completing their laps of the school playground.  Weather permitting, as well as getting outdoor exercise, it has been refreshing to catch some fresh air to keep our minds active for learning.

Letters to Santa

The children have been super excited in class, as Christmas fast approaches.  For our writing lesson this week, the children enjoyed writing and sharing their all important letters to Santa.  Every child shared that they had been very good this year and are confident that they are on Santa's NICE list!  Some items on the children's list included a sea turtle, a ferrari, a helicopter and a jet pack ... no pressure Santa! ;)

Painting

We took it in turns to paint something for our latest wall display in the lunch hall.  Mrs Morrison allowed us to use fancy metallic paints :)  We took our time with different sized paint brushes to ensure that we did the best job we could!  Any guesses as to what it is we have been painting?  We'll give you a little clue...Under the Sea.

Self and peer assessment

The children are becoming increasingly independent at assessing their writing.  As well as reading through and checking their own writing, the boys and girls have been enjoying sharing their writing with peers and providing feedback.  Today the children highlighted the different connectives that they managed to include in their news.  Fantastic work P2!

Christmas Crafts

We have been as busy as Santa's Elves for the past week, working on our crafts for the school's Christmas Fair.  We hope our parents and relatives will like the finished products.  Have a fun day at the fair everyone!

Keeping fit in the classroom

Cosmic Yoga has been a huge hit with the children in P2 :)  The children enjoy telling a story through movement, as well as using different body parts to demonstrate various stretching techniques.
Today's story was STAR WARS.  At one point we had a classroom full of Darth Vaders!

Dental Hygiene

The boys and girls have been enjoying keeping their beautiful teeth clean by brushing after lunchtime. The children, in groups, take turns to use the sink area and already are quite the experts! Keep up the excellent work P2!
